The CBRN Master of Tor Vergata University, Partner in the RESIST Project, organized a Conference on “COVID-19 Emergency management, operative actions and steps to prepare to a new normality“, held online on April 23rd. The conference gathered international high-level speakers from the health and academia domains, as well as first responders from the fire brigades and the military.
The conference covered different aspects of the COVID-19 emergency, from detection to treatment as well as operational response by operators who are on the frontline. Speakers provided insights and shared lessons learned based on their own experiences gained over the past months. The main topics covered Italian response mechanisms by actors from the health sector, the Fire Brigades, and the Army, including the support given by the Air Force. At the event also took part international experts from Brasil, the US, Northern Ireland and Germany who illustrated how authorities are dealing with the current crisis in their respective countries, outlining aspects related to treatment, detection, environmental monitoring, and also the mental health of Emergency Staff involved in the crisis management process.
The event represented an excellent platform for the exchange of best practices and emergency management in relation to COVID-19, promoting the sharing of lessons learned in view of better managing similar future situations.
